Patent Validity Challenge by Competing Firm. An increase in inlet air density through controlled water injection dramatically increases the output of gas turbine power generators. After showcasing the size and industrial nature of this gas turbine unit, a sectional view shows water entering the inlet and increasing the air density, thus increasing the output. The effects of sudden injection of water into the turbine are shown damaging the porcelain coated blades. The unique slow release nature of the patented designs then demonstrated increasing output without turbine blade damage. The device was copied by another company, who responded to an infringement claim and challenged the existing patent.
