Prior to joining the Litigation Insights team in 2010, Carey worked for a number of years in the hospitality industry, where she built a foundation in event planning, logistics, and operations. Over the last seven years, her attention to detail has been a tremendous asset to the LI team, where she’s transitioned her skills into managing legal research operations. Carey leads our Case Management team, helping to secure the ideal facilities to host our research projects and the best pricing for our clients. Carey is adept at managing projects hosted at market research facilities, hotels, and even atypical venues in rural communities, such as conventional halls and community recreation centers. Her calm under fire ensures that projects run smoothly even when the unexpected occurs.
In addition to the facility space, Carey – along with our other Case Managers – oversees the recruiting process. Carey works with our recruiters to find jury research participants who match the demographics, employment status, and characteristics of jurors who are likely to show up at trial – unlike other firms, who often recruit the unemployed or “professional focus groups participants.” Our recruiting practices allow you to generalize your jury research results to the actual population of jurors who may hear your case, ensuring you achieve results you can rely on.
Carey also manages the Social Media Analysis research team, which provides detailed profiles of potential jurors’ online presence. This information is often key during jury selections in which counsel are afforded little opportunity to question the jurors, or as is common in high-profile litigation, when jurors fail to disclose the full extent of their anti-corporate biases. As the Senior Case Manager overseeing these several key components of our jury research services, Carey is an integral member of the LI team.
